STRANGE SUSPENSE STORIES #19 July 1954

This book has a lot going for it. For starters , there's the Ditko cover. One of his finest from any era or genre, and it reeks of tension and emotion, filling the viewer with a sense of dread.
The first story is illustrated by Superman co-creator Joe Shuster, and gives a glimpse into a time where one rising star, Ditko, was gracing the same pages as a downtrodden giant,Shuster.
The next story is, what looks to me, to be a rare instance of Vince Alascia doing both pencils and inks, though I certainly could be wrong.
We move on to a more than solid Giordano tale---one of his better early efforts, followed by another one by him, this time inked by Alascia.
Then the story most people seem to know, the Ditko 6 pager, and finally rounding it out with another Giordano piece--a 2 page filler.
It seems a shame that so much emphasis is placed only on the Ditko work from this and other series of the time, especially when there's so much other great stories within the pages of these titles. Perhaps one day someone will finally start collecting some of these into hardcover reprint editions and give them the respect they deserve.
