GHOSTLY TALES #103 April 1973

One of Ditko's most macabre covers ever, and beautifully colored in a greyish-green that perfectly evokes the desiccation of the corpse lying in wait for his revenge, or "last laugh", as the title tells us.
This is one of the finest issues of the series, from the outstanding cover, we then move to art by Pete Morisi, then a tale by the unquestioningly legendary Jack Abel , then finally the cover story by Steve Ditko.
According to the GCD, the story is penciled and inked by Ditko, but these eyes see inks by Rich Larson, who was just beginning his pro career, starting out like so many others right there in Derby at Charlton.
